About RealFeeCalc
RealFeeCalc.com is an independent project that helps freelancers, sellers, and small business owners understand exactly how much money they lose to payment processing fees โ and what to do about it.
Why this site exists
Most freelancers don't realize that PayPal, Stripe, Upwork, Fiverr and similar platforms collectively take 5โ25% of their gross income. The fees are real, the numbers are large, and most processors don't make them easy to calculate.
We started in late 2024 as a single-page calculator. Over time it grew into a full reference: 5 main calculators (PayPal, Stripe, Reverse fee, Freelance, Crypto) plus 20+ in-depth guides on payment alternatives, international transfers, and stablecoin payments.
Our editorial principles
- Real numbers, not marketing. Every fee comparison uses public 2026 rates from official processor pages. We re-check quarterly.
- No fake testimonials. Aggregate ratings reflect repeat-user surveys, not made-up endorsements.
- Affiliate transparency. Some outbound links (e.g., to Bybit) are referral links. We earn a commission if you sign up. This never changes our reporting โ we link to alternatives we don't earn from too (Wise, Kraken, Stripe, Coinbase) where they're the better fit.
- Privacy first. No personal data collected. Calculators run client-side. See our Privacy Policy.
Who writes the content
Articles are written and reviewed by the RealFeeCalc editorial team โ a small group of freelancers and ex-marketplace product people who got tired of paying the fee tax themselves and started documenting alternatives. Every guide is fact-checked against the processor's current public fee schedule before publication.
How we make money
Two ways:
- Affiliate commissions when readers open accounts at exchanges and tools we recommend (e.g., Bybit referral code B43BYNM). Cost to you: zero โ you get the same or better terms than going direct.
- Display advertising via Google AdSense and A-ADS. Ads are clearly marked and never compromise editorial picks.
What we will never do
- Sell your data (we don't collect it).
- Hide affiliate relationships.
- Recommend something we wouldn't use ourselves.
- Take money to push a worse product over a better one.
